30 Jun 2010. GULLIVER and IPC SANIVAP
Two giants in the world of hygiene

At the foot of the hill below Vignale near Monferrato, one of the supermarkets in the Gulliver chain offers local residents and passers-by the certainty of a regular supply of food and non-food products.
The Gulliver group was set up in 1964 and now boasts around eighty stores between directly owned and franchised businesses in the Piedmont, Liguria, Lombardy and Emilia regions of Italy.
The secret of the group’s success lies in excellent employee relations, close contact with its customers, top quality service and products carefully chosen to meet the needs of the local area.

But apart from a broad and intelligent Selection of products, what stands out whenever you enter a Gulliver store is the sparkling cleanliness of every section.
As Martino Chiaromonte, manager of the Vignale store explains “We are always aware of the need for hygiene in everything we do. We see cleanliness as our visiting card, a guarantee of professionalism, attention to detail and respect for our customers.
And this is not just because the law demands it, but because we ourselves see it as a moral obligation. Hygiene is one of the key valuis of our group, and is passed on to and shared by every member of staff.
In order to ensure the highest standards of hygiene in delicate areas Like our meat and delicatessen sections, we have made the heads of each section directly responsible for supervising the cleaning of surfaces and equipment in their own areas. Equipment may have to be cleaned not just once, but many times a day depending on what it is used for, and disinfection may also be needed to eliminate bacteria.”

The Gulliver Group is supported in hygiene management equipment and in the Selection of the best solutions for in-store cleaning by Paredes, international distributors of professional cleaning products and equipment. Paredes’ Genoa based Italian subsidiary recommended Gulliver to try Sanivap, the sanitising system developed by IPC Integrated Professional Cleaning. Sanivap delivers a constant flow of saturated steam and uses the cleansing and disinfecting action of high temperatures to eliminate dirt and potentially hazardous microbes from any surface, quickly and safely.
“We tested Sanivap and its accessories on all sorts of equipment and surface for two months in one of our stores,” Gulliver’s Fabio Crepaldi reports. “We carefully monitored not only immediately visible results but the less evident ones too, Like residual bacterial charge, and we were pleasantly surprised to discover that they far exceeded our expectations. Cleaning was quick, effective and complete, and even reached those awkward little corners you get in machines Like mincers and slicers. The level of sanitisation was exceptional too.” As a result the Gulliver Group has purchased IPC’s Sanivap system for nearly all its stores.
80% of all Gulliver stores are already using IPC Sanivap to give customers the added security of certain and total hygiene.
Gulliver sees its customers as their most vital resource, to be respected and safeguarded. Just Like IPC.
Together, IPC and Gulliver have formed a successful task force to combat all hygiene risks and inspire confidence in all those who trust us to safeguard their health.
