03 Apr 2009. Mìele has chosen IPC Gansow
The German company, world leader in the household appliances sector, uses IPC Gansow’s Premium Line 161 B to clean the Gütersloh factory
Mìele is the most important German manufacturer of high quality household appliances and industrial machines. Nine production units, eight in Germany and one in Austria. Cleaning is contracted out to two companies, including the giant ISS Facility Service. The departments most delicate from a cleaning point of view are the foundry, the forming department and the warehouse. In these departments, the dirt produced each day varies depending on the activity underway. There is therefore a mixture of coarse dirt, fine dirt and particularly difficult dirt - a complex range demanding the right equipment. "Such as IPC Gansow sweepers, able to guarantee first class results", says Paul Oude-Engberink, ISS manager in Mìele. "In the Gütersloh factory, an IPC Gansow ride-on sweeper has been in operation since we became responsible for the service. We thought about introducing a second machine able on its own to eliminate both heavy and light dirt, combining efficiency, efficacy and shorter working times, therefore profitability." Given the size of the factory (5,000 m², including 1,400 m² the foundry, 1,650 m² the forming department and the rest warehouses), the choice fell on IPC Gansow’s Premium Line 161 B. This ride-on sweeper is completely hydraulic, from the drive to the sweeping system. Robust, extremely versatile and manoeuvrable, it can tackle even the most tough working conditions. All areas are, in fact, cleaned five days a week for four hours per day. The wide sweeping width (1.3 m) and large dust filtration surface (8 m of polyester fabric optimising dust retention) make the machine particularly suitable for sweeping large covered areas requiring removal not only of a large volume of debris, but also a large quantity of fine dust, not released into the air. The debris bin can be raised to a height of 1.4 m, making it easier to empty into special skips. Another of the Premium Line 161 B’s factors of excellence is the machine’s extreme manoeuvrability and operator comfort. This is confirmed by Christine Certa: "The machine is easy to use, the controls are simple and intuitive and the seat is comfortable and ergonomic. Operators can take their turn using it without problems". And last but not least for ISS’s finances, as Paul Oude-Engberink explains: "Machine maintenance has been reduced to a minimum and can be carried out simply by the operators themselves as all areas are easily accessible.
